Daegu City Recruits 50 Members for the 2nd Generation of 'Disability Empathy Supporters'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Daegu City announced on the 16th that it is recruiting the '2nd Daegu City Disability Empathy Supporters' to create a city where differences do not lead to discrimination by expanding correct understanding and empathy toward disabilities.
Last year, Daegu City, which was the first local government to launch citizen supporters for disability awareness improvement, plans to recruit a total of 50 disability empathy supporters this year, including 25 university students and 25 general citizens, to carry out creative and passionate disability awareness improvement activities led by citizens.
The application target for the 2nd Disability Empathy Supporters is any citizen residing in Daegu City (including foreigners) or university students (including those on leave) from universities located in Daegu or Gyeongbuk. The recruitment period is from the 16th to the 25th. Detailed information can be found in the notices section on the Daegu City website.
Daegu City will provide a fixed monthly activity fee to outstanding supporters, and after the activities end, will recognize volunteer service records and issue activity certificates. At the end of the year, excellent supporters will be selected and awarded.
