Governor Lee Cheol-woo of Gyeongbuk Province Receives Courtesy Call from Commander of the 19th US Support Command: "We go Together"
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, received a courtesy visit from Steven L. Allen, Commander of the U.S. 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, on the 15th and discussed the importance of the ROK-U.S. alliance.
Commander Steven L. Allen visited the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office for the first time since his inauguration as the U.S. 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command Commander at Camp Walker in Daegu on June 9. Despite recent ROK-U.S. defense cost-sharing negotiations and deteriorating relations with North Korea, the province explained that this meeting was an opportunity to share a common understanding that the ROK-U.S. alliance has remained steadfast since the Korean War.
Commander Allen stated, "The soldiers of the 19th Command are making efforts to maintain the unwavering ROK-U.S. alliance, and if a crisis occurs on the Korean Peninsula, we will fully support the immediate deployment readiness of the U.S. 8th Army and dedicate ourselves to establishing peace."
