Pohang City Expands Small Business Card Fee Support to 'Under 300 Million Won'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Pohang City, Gyeongbuk announced on the 15th that it will expand the 'Card Fee Support Project' to help small business owners who are struggling due to the prolonged economic downturn caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The small business card fee support project, which has been implemented since March, was previously limited to small business owners with sales of 150 million KRW or less in 2019, providing 0.8% of the previous year's card sales, up to a maximum of 500,000 KRW. However, going forward, the sales threshold will be relaxed to 300 million KRW or less.
As of the end of June, Pohang City has supported 9,539 businesses with a total of 2.518 billion KRW related to this project. Currently, as it is spreading as a major project in Gyeongsangbuk-do, Pohang City has received an additional 2.3 billion KRW in provincial funds, enabling more small business owners to benefit.
Eligible small business owners can apply online or by visiting the Eastern Branch of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Economic Promotion Agency in person. However, businesses that have already received Pohang City's card fee support cannot apply again. For more details, please refer to the Pohang City website (Notices).
