US to Continue Anti-Dumping Investigation on Korean and Other Tires
[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) announced on the 14th (local time) that it has decided to continue the anti-dumping investigation on Korean tires and others.
USITC stated in a press release that it made a positive determination in the preliminary phase of the anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations.
Earlier, the United Steelworkers (USW) and others filed a petition with the U.S. Department of Commerce and USITC on May 13, claiming that passenger car tires imported from Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam were being sold in the U.S. below fair value, and the Department of Commerce initiated the investigation on the 23rd of last month.

According to KOTRA, Korean tires held a 10% market share of imported tires in the U.S. last year, ranking third after Thailand and Mexico.
