Seoul Gangseo-gu Recruiting 1,217 for 'COVID-19 Overcome Hope Jobs'
Applications Accepted Until the 17th, Priority Selection for Employment-Vulnerable Groups and Unemployed or Closed Business Residents
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) is promoting the ‘COVID-19 Overcome Hope Job Project’ to revitalize the local economy affected by COVID-19.
This project was prepared to stabilize the livelihoods of residents experiencing economic difficulties such as unemployment and business closures due to the spread and prolongation of COVID-19, and to revitalize the local economy.
The number of recruits is 1,217, the largest scale ever among public job projects in the region.
The project period is from August 3 to November 30, and it will operate in 51 projects across 32 fields, including ▲traditional market life quarantine officers ▲senior welfare center life quarantine support ▲neighborhood park cleanliness helpers.
Applicants must be residents registered in the district as of the project start date, aged 18 or older, and capable of working.
Priority will be given to low-income and vulnerable groups, and residents who have experienced unemployment or business closure (including temporary closure) due to COVID-19. However, those currently participating in existing public job projects or receiving livelihood benefits such as basic living allowance are restricted from participating.
Residents wishing to participate must visit their local community service center by the 17th with their ID card, application form, consent form for personal information, and other related documents to apply in person.
Those who have been unemployed or had business closures due to COVID-19, special-type workers, freelancers, etc., must submit documents proving these facts.
The district will select participants based on criteria such as property status, household income, and number of dependents, and the final participants will be individually notified on July 30.
Participants will receive a wage of 8,590 KRW per hour, along with transportation expenses, snack allowances, and weekly/monthly leave allowances separately.
The district selected 176 people in the first half of the year through a public work project to alleviate the economic downturn caused by COVID-19 and stabilize the livelihoods of vulnerable groups.
