This is the first time that an organization representing domestic workers has set up a reporting center to collect and uncover unfair trade practices by large corporations.
The joint declaration adoption event was held at the KCTU headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, with attendees including Kim Gi-moon, Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs, and Kim Dong-myeong, Chairman of the KCTU, among other officials. The joint declaration includes ▲ continuous reporting and relief support through the establishment of an unfair trade reporting center ▲ joint surveys and research on unfair trade ▲ improvement of workers' quality of life ▲ projects to foster a win-win culture between large and small-medium enterprises ▲ workplace innovation and other improvements in working conditions.
Both organizations plan to jointly pursue meetings with heads of large corporations when necessary to promote win-win cooperation between large and small-medium enterprises. In particular, to implement the joint declaration concretely, they established an unfair trade reporting center within the KCTU on the same day and held a plaque unveiling ceremony.
Chairman Kim Gi-moon stated, "Eradicating unfair trade between large and small-medium enterprises is not only an issue for SME managers but directly relates to the lives of workers employed in SMEs. To bridge the gap between large and small-medium enterprises and create healthy SME jobs, the business and labor sectors will work together to eliminate unfair trade."
