Gyeongbuk Province Opens 'Jeongja Cultural Life Center', a Stay-Type Tourist Destination in Bonghwa County
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 9th that it officially opened the 'Bonghwa Jeongja Cultural Life Center,' which has been promoted for 8 years as part of the 3rd Cultural Belt Project, in the area of Oesam-ri, Bongseong-myeon, Bonghwa-gun.
The event was attended by about 500 people, including Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, Eom Tae-hang, Mayor of Bonghwa County, Park Hyun-guk, Provincial Assembly member, Kwon Young-jun, Chairman of the County Council, and local residents. It began with a pre-event performance by the Gyeongbuk Provincial Symphony Orchestra, followed by a progress report, presentation of plaques of appreciation, ribbon cutting, and commemorative tree planting.
The Bonghwa Jeongja Cultural Life Center is the main exhibition hall of the 'Nujeonghyu Cultural Nuri Project,' themed on Bonghwa's unique content, which boasts as many as 103 pavilions and jeongjas. It is expected to be spotlighted as a representative stay-type tourist destination of the region when the Hanok Experience Center, Solhyangchon, is operated in the second half of the year.
The Nujeonghyu Cultural Nuri Project has a total project cost of 31 billion KRW and is equipped with the Jeongja Cultural Life Center, Solhyangchon, and Nujeong O-gyeong on a site of 292,880㎡. The monorail installation project connecting the Nujeonghyu Cultural Nuri site and the nearby Wood Culture Experience Center was selected in the Gyeongbuk Province underdeveloped area development special account contest and is being promoted with the goal of completion next year.

Governor Lee Cheol-woo of Gyeongbuk Province emphasized, "We will strive further to enhance the competitiveness of Gyeongbuk tourism and stimulate local tourism consumption so that domestic tourism, which has shown a gradual increase since the transition to the daily life social distancing quarantine system, can stabilize."
