Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest Also Temporarily Closed Until the 19th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Yongcheol] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do recently announced on the 9th that it will close Yulposolbat Beach, which was scheduled to open on the 11th, and indefinitely postpone its opening due to the rapid spread of COVID-19 in the Gwangju and Jeonnam areas.
As a follow-up measure, the county installed blocking fences to prevent visitors from entering and closed camping sites where camping was allowed. In addition, outdoor showers and drinking fountains were shut off to prevent use.
The forest recreation facilities at Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest will also be closed until the 19th. During this closure period, the recreation forest plans to carry out repairs on Deoneum-gil trail and convenience facilities, as well as maintenance of aging facilities and environmental cleanup. They will intensify inspections of all facilities.
On the 3rd, the county closed 452 multi-use facilities including senior centers, and since the social distancing level in Jeonnam was raised to level 2 on the 6th, an additional 28 public facilities including the Yulpo Sea Green Tea Center were closed.
A county official said, “We sincerely apologize to those who made prior reservations, but due to the recent occurrence of COVID-19 confirmed cases in nearby areas and the resulting increased anxiety among residents, the safety of residents and vacationers was prioritized in making this decision. We ask for your understanding with a generous heart.”
