50s Man Arrested for Killing Ex-Cohabitant with a Weapon Over Refusal to Settle Assault Case
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Min Jun-young] A man in his 50s who stabbed his ex-cohabiting partner to death with a weapon, claiming she refused to settle an assault case, has been arrested by the police.
The Chuncheon Police Station in Gangwon announced on the 8th that they have apprehended A (50) on suspicion of murder and are investigating him.
A is accused of stabbing employee B (55) multiple times with a weapon at a karaoke bar in Hupyeong-dong, Chuncheon City, Gangwon, around 3:30 a.m. the previous day, resulting in her death.
According to the police, the two had been living together for three years but broke up earlier this year.
During the police investigation, A reportedly stated, "I committed the crime because I demanded a settlement regarding an assault incident that occurred while living with B in January, but was refused."
