Lotte Homeshopping to Sell 'Rainier Cherry' on Choi Yura Show on the 9th
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Lotte Homeshopping will launch the third product of its fresh food private brand ‘Haru Ilgwa’ called ‘Rainier Cherry’ on the 9th through its flagship program 'Choi Yura Show'.
‘Haru Ilgwa’ is a private brand introduced by Lotte Homeshopping last month to target the fresh food market, with the concept of ‘enjoying one fruit a day for a healthy lifestyle.’ Starting with premium high-sugar washed apples from Uiseong, Gyeongbuk, it has consecutively launched high-quality fruits including Shinbi peaches from Gyeongbuk and now Rainier cherries. Notably, the new variety Shinbi peaches, launched on the 18th of last month, sold out 7,000 sets during a 60-minute broadcast.

On the 9th at 8:40 PM, as part of the special broadcast ‘Yura Market’ on the Choi Yura Show, which features seasonal fruits and health foods, ‘Rainier Cherry’ will be sold. It is a hybrid of sweet Bing cherries and tart Van cherries, characterized by higher sweetness than regular cherries and a yellow hue. Due to its demanding cultivation process, it accounts for only 10% of total cherry production even in the U.S., and it is a rare variety in Korea as well. Its sweetness and price are also over 30% higher than regular cherries. During the broadcast, a set of four packs will be sold for around 50,000 won.
