Anti-Snoring Pillows and Suction Electric Toothbrushes... CJ O Shopping Supports Innovative Startups
'Challenge! Startup' Selected 6 Companies
New Startups Equipped with IoT Technology
Prototype Stage... Additional Support Upon Full Product Launch
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] CJ ENM O Shopping Division announced on the 8th that it has finally selected six companies as recipients of the excellent startup support program ‘Challenge! Startup.’
The selected companies are startups established less than seven years ago with innovative and unique technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT). First, ▲‘Blueleo,’ a startup manufacturing oral care devices, sells a suction electric toothbrush. It is a device that cleans by sucking substances inside the mouth without the need to rinse with a cup of water after brushing. ▲‘MJ Beauty,’ a beauty specialist company, was chosen for its root hair dyeing device that sprays dye when pressed against the scalp. ▲‘Metel’s’ anti-snoring pillow automatically detects snoring sounds and adjusts the pillow height, ▲‘People Multi’s’ topper measures health status during sleep and sends notifications to a mobile phone if abnormalities occur, ▲‘Sunsu Baram’s’ hairdryer is equipped with a digital temperature control system, and ▲‘Human Toktok’s’ touch pen with an automatic reading function were also finally selected.
CJ ENM O Shopping Division plans to launch the six startup products on its sales channels by November this year. The products will be introduced sequentially through the free broadcast with no sales commission ‘1 Company 1 Premium Product,’ the mobile live broadcast channel ‘Shock Live,’ and the internet shopping mall CJmall. Currently, most are in the prototype development stage, and four companies that launch finished products first will receive an additional broadcasting support fund of 10 million won each.
‘Challenge! Startup’ is CJ ENM O Shopping Division’s representative win-win program. The O Shopping Division signed an agreement with the Seoul Business Agency in December last year with the goal of discovering and supporting the growth of excellent domestic startups with innovative technologies. The contest started in March this year, and a total of about 110 companies applied.
