Five Foreigners Arrested and Indicted for Smuggling Drugs Hidden in Baby Formula Containers and Shoes
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] The Changwon District Prosecutors' Office in Gyeongnam announced on the 6th that it has arrested and indicted five foreigners, including three Vietnamese and two Thais, on charges of smuggling drugs through international mail (violation of the Narcotics Control Act), in cooperation with customs, and has suspended prosecution of one Vietnamese.
The three Vietnamese are accused of secretly bringing various drugs into the country from Germany via international mail in March.
The local supplier in Germany sent them drugs such as Philopon, Ecstasy, and Ketamine concealed in powdered milk containers.
Another Vietnamese individual is accused of bringing Ecstasy and Ketamine concealed in shoes from Vietnam via international mail in June.
The two Thais reportedly received Philopon hidden in table decorations with religious symbols sent from Thailand via international mail, according to the prosecution.

The prosecution seized approximately 3,000 doses of Philopon, 3,400 Ecstasy pills, and 290 grams of Ketamine from them.
