Ministry of Education Announces Results of 'Media Center Construction Project' Competition
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Three school media education centers will be established in Chungbuk, Gyeonggi, and Daegu.
The Ministry of Education announced the results of the school media center construction project contest on the 6th.
Through this contest, three locations?Chungbuk, Gyeonggi, and Daegu?were selected. The school media education centers, established as agencies directly under the metropolitan and provincial offices of education, will serve as regional hubs for media education. They will also support strengthening teachers' media capabilities necessary for remote classes.

The center construction will be promoted starting from January 2021. The Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education and the Gyeonggi-do Office of Education will build new buildings on vacant land such as school sites, while the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education will renovate closed school buildings to create spaces for media education. The Ministry of Education will allocate a total of 15 billion KRW in special grants to support the metropolitan and provincial offices of education.
