Lotte Chemical Publishes 2019 Sustainability Management Report

Lotte Chemical publishes a sustainability management report every year and posts it on its website to transparently disclose management performance and social value creation activities and to communicate with customers and stakeholders.
The 2019 Sustainability Management Report, published for the 13th time this year, introduced Lotte Chemical's activities aimed at solving domestic and international economic, environmental, and social issues and realizing social value in connection with the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) recommended by the UN.
In particular, this report details environmental achievements such as the development of eco-friendly products, the 'Project LOOP' initiative to establish a plastic circular economy system in collaboration with social venture companies, and the purchase performance of eco-friendly products and services. Additionally, it includes various social contribution activities tailored to countries where Lotte Chemical operates, including domestic business sites as well as Malaysia, Indonesia, and Pakistan.
Business performance is also recorded in detail. It presents key domestic and international new business activities pursued in 2019, such as the completion of the shale gas-based U.S. ethane cracker (ECC) and MEG plant, the joint venture with Lotte GS Chemical Co., Ltd., and the acquisition of Belenko, a Turkish engineered stone company. Furthermore, following this year's integration with Lotte Advanced Materials, introductions of domestic and overseas business sites and products in the advanced materials business have been added.
