Seongdong-gu Village Instructor School Online Class Support
Seongdong-gu Provides Online Class Preparation Training on Video Production and Editing Techniques for 44 Village Instructors; Produced Videos Used as School Learning Materials to Address Lack of Curriculum Content and Overwork
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jeong Won-oh) is conducting online video production training, including video shooting and program usage, for 44 village instructors of the Seongdong Innovation Education District.
This training was prepared with the purpose of actively utilizing village instructors to alleviate the lack of curriculum content and the heavy workload of school teachers, as most academic schedules have been conducted through online classes due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Village instructors are a group of resident instructors who have been active to realize village education by becoming teachers with various competencies under the concept of "raising children in the whole village," since Seongdong-gu was designated as an Innovation Education District in 2016.
This lecture, consisting of basic and advanced education, is conducted using online lecture equipment and instructors within the Seongdong-gu 4th Industrial Revolution Center, and due to COVID-19, it is conducted in small groups of 2-3 people online.
The basic education, held over four sessions on the 2nd and 3rd, had 11 village instructors join each live class session to receive training on video shooting techniques using smartphones and how to use the GomMix editing program.
Among those who completed the basic education, 15 will receive advanced training to produce videos linked to the curriculum for direct use in school classes.
The advanced training will be conducted face-to-face in small groups from July 23 to 30, and the produced video content will be distributed to schools within Seongdong-gu to be used as online learning materials and promotional materials for village instructors.
A district official said, "The content produced by instructors who complete the advanced course after the basic education can be immediately used in school classes, and instructors will have the opportunity to be preferentially selected for school elective classes that will be introduced into the regular curriculum in the future."
Han Mi-ryeong (Eungbong-dong, 43), a village instructor, said, "I applaud the quick response of Seongdong. In these times when online classes are the main form, I was worried about where to learn video production as a village instructor, but I want to learn well through this opportunity and actively utilize it."
