Chungnam, '15 Billion KRW Budget Savings' Through Pre-Contract Cost Review
[Asia Economy (Naepo) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Chungnam Provincial Audit Committee announced on the 5th that it saved 15 billion won in budget through pre-contract cost reviews of 819 cases including construction, service, and goods procurement in the first half of this year.
The Audit Committee reduced the budget by 12 billion won for 337 construction cases, 2.6 billion won for 220 service cases, and 400 million won for 262 goods cases by project. They identified and cut unnecessary budgets by examining the cost estimation for each design item and the appropriateness of construction method selection.
The Audit Committee also increased the budget for under-designed areas related to safety and quality improvement through the review process. For example, the committee increased the budget by 800 million won for 33 cases, including the reconstruction work of Sinchanggyo on Local Road No. 647, to prevent poor-quality services and construction on site.
