One COVID-19 Case Confirmed in Naju Near Gwangju... Classified as Jeonnam Case No. 26
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Following the occurrence of 64 COVID-19 cases in Gwangju over the past week, one additional case has been reported in Jeonnam, classified as Jeonnam case number 26.
According to Jeonnam Province on the 4th, a woman in her 50s, Ms. A, residing in Naju and working at the Korea Electric Power Corporation Hampyeong branch, was confirmed positive for COVID-19 after a retest.
Ms. A showed symptoms such as coughing starting from the 1st and had a specimen collected at a public health center screening clinic on the 3rd. The test conducted by a private commissioned institution returned a positive result, and she was transferred to Gangjin Medical Center.
Subsequently, a more accurate retest conducted by the Jeonnam Provincial Institute of Health and Environment also confirmed a positive result.
Hampyeong County reportedly sent an urgent safety message requesting all residents who visited the KEPCO Hampyeong branch, where Ms. A handled civil service tasks, to visit the public health center.
So far, it has been confirmed that Ms. A visited SM Sauna in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 28th of last month. Her husband, son, daughter, and cafe employees run by her family all tested negative.
