Justice Party: "Not a Pro-Government Justice Party, but a Progressive Opposition Justice Party"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] The Justice Party has requested the media to "avoid using the expression 'pro-ruling coalition Justice Party' as much as possible."
On the 3rd, Kim Jongcheol, senior spokesperson of the Justice Party, sent a message to reporters asking, "Please refer to the Justice Party with the more accurate categories of 'progressive opposition party Justice Party' or 'progressive party Justice Party,' rather than 'pro-ruling coalition Justice Party,' and report accordingly."
Kim also stated, "The Justice Party refused to participate in the ruling party's proportional satellite party even in the April 15 general election, and since then, regardless of parties such as the Democratic Party of Korea and the United Future Party, it has been voicing independent opinions and engaging in policy competition."
He added, "Recently, we have been criticizing the government and ruling party on various issues such as real estate policy, the actions of Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae, and the hasty supplementary budget review. We are also delivering sharp criticism toward the United Future Party."
