Daegu City Announces Ministry of the Interior and Safety Review Results for 'Village Enterprises'... 6 Companies Selected

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] On the 3rd, Daegu City announced that in the final evaluation of this year's village enterprises by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety last June, three enterprises were selected for the 2nd year (including two youth-type enterprises) and three for the 3rd year.
Village enterprises are community-based businesses led by village residents that utilize various local resources to activate the local community and contribute to regional development by providing income and jobs to local residents. The selected 2nd-year village enterprises will receive subsidies of 30 million KRW each, and the 3rd-year village enterprises will receive 20 million KRW each.
The village enterprises selected for the 2nd year are Dangsinjaedan Sil Co., Ltd., Bitgeul Cooperative, and Nammun Ollae Cooperative. In particular, Dangsinjaedan Sil, a youth-type village enterprise newly selected in 2019, forms a community with skilled sewing professionals in the Seo-gu area and operates a custom design clothing business. Recently, it has gained attention as a youth enterprise expanding its business overseas.
Daegu-Gyeongbuk Film and Video Social Cooperative, Seongseo Community FM Association, and Saessak Agricultural Corporation were recognized for their long-term contributions to solving local problems and revitalizing the community as village enterprises in Daegu City and were selected as 3rd-year village enterprises.
In addition, Daegu City selected six preliminary village enterprises, including the Witch Craft Cooperative, last May. The selected enterprises each receive 10 million KRW in project funds to strengthen their capabilities for entry into new village enterprises next year.

Kim Young-ae, Director of the Citizen Happiness Education Bureau of Daegu City, stated, "We plan to open applications for next year's village enterprises around October for organizations wishing to establish new village enterprises," and urged local residents interested in the establishment and operation of village enterprises to participate.
