[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byung-nae) announced on the 3rd that it will undertake an organizational restructuring effective on the 10th to establish an organizational system supporting the policy vision for the second half of the 7th term of the elected government and to create an efficient organizational operation system through adjustment of departments by strengthening their functions.
The newly established departments this time are the Public Relations Officer, the Resident Autonomy Division, and the Cleaning Administration Division.
The establishment of the Public Relations Officer is Nam-gu’s explanation that it aims to actively respond to changes in the information age by creating a dedicated public relations department and to have broad communication with residents.
The Resident Autonomy Division is an organization aimed at laying the foundation for expanding autonomous decentralization through activating resident participation and public-private cooperation. It will establish a promotion system for the project to build resident autonomy-type public services such as transitioning to resident autonomy councils and carry out tasks to revitalize resident-led living communities such as village creation.
The Cleaning Administration Division is a newly established department to take charge of cleaning tasks such as rapidly increasing household waste and garbage.
An organization to lead future industries such as artificial intelligence will also be newly introduced.
To keep pace with the government’s national strategy plan for becoming a top AI nation and the policy direction of Gwangju City for fostering future industries, a Future Industry Team has been established.
In the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, this is to discover regionally specialized future industries such as artificial intelligence and smart convergence energy new industries for regional innovation.
It will play a role in nurturing Nam-gu’s future growth engines linked with the Daechon Area Energy Valley and the advanced immersive content production cluster within the Songam Industrial Complex.
