Seoul Gangseo-gu Provides Opportunities to Reflect on Future Careers and Vocations... Customized One-Way or Interactive Education by School
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gangseo Career and Vocational Experience Support Center (Director Chunhye Lee) in Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Hyun-song Noh) is operating "Career Classes Meeting Online" due to reduced face-to-face learning opportunities caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
This program was prepared to help local youth develop the ability to think about careers and choose the right career path for themselves even as the COVID-19 situation prolongs.
The Gangseo Career and Vocational Experience Support Center is a dedicated organization that provides practical and systematic career and vocational experiences to youth in the district.
In addition to existing programs, the center newly established ▲Online On-site Vocational Experience ▲Online Meetings with Professionals ▲Online Vocational Practice Experience.
Each program is conducted in various ways, such as real-time interactive classes or non-face-to-face one-way classes using educational content, depending on school requests or the nature of the program.
Furthermore, for programs requiring materials such as practical experience, materials are distributed to schools in advance to facilitate effective learning.
Interested elementary, middle, and high schools can apply by sending the program application form via email (gs.job@daum.net) or through the Kkumgil website.
Also, previously applied center special support programs and career programs operated with school budgets can be conducted as online classes.
Mayor Hyun-song Noh said, "We initiated this to provide various programs to help local youth find their career paths," and added, "We will actively support youth to grow into future talents based on mutual trust with the center."
To enhance the quality of program operation by utilizing specialized educational resources, the Gangseo Career and Vocational Experience Support Center signed a business agreement on June 22 with Korea Polytechnic University Seoul Gangseo Campus (Dean Jeong-jin Noh) to promote online career programs.
