Infraware Obtains Information Security Management System Certification... "Proving Top-Level Security in Korea"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Infraware announced on the 30th that it has obtained the ‘Information Security Management System (ISMS)’ certification, the highest authority information protection certification system in Korea, from the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) under the Ministry of Science and ICT.
The ISMS certification is a system that audits and guarantees whether an internal information protection system for safeguarding personal information and information assets held by a company is securely established, managed, and operated. It is jointly operated by three ministries: the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Science and ICT, and the Korea Communications Commission, and the certification is granted after an audit by the national certification body, KISA.
The ISMS certification obtained by Infraware is the new version renewed last year. It is awarded to companies that pass 16 criteria in the establishment and operation of information security management systems and 64 criteria in protection measure requirements after a thorough audit.
The certification scope covers all products serviced by Infraware. This includes the cloud-based office software ‘Polaris Office,’ the mobile antivirus ‘V-Guard,’ and mobile games ‘TownStail,’ ‘TownStail with Ebichu,’ and ‘Fatal Raid.’
Infraware has held the ‘ISO/IEC 27001 (International Standard Information Security Certification)’ since 2016. With the acquisition of the ISMS certification this time, it has obtained both domestic and international information security certifications, further proving that it safely and systematically manages online service customer information and internal information assets.
An Infraware official stated, “Especially for ‘Polaris Office,’ which is a global service used by over 100 million individual and corporate customers in 234 countries worldwide, we maintain a high level of security awareness and always establish a thorough management system,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen the information security management system so that customers can safely use the service without any security concerns.”
