View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] KOTRA held a 'Small and Medium-sized Export Companies Meeting' on the 30th in Samseong-dong, Seoul, to discuss ways to enter overseas markets. Eleven companies using KOTRA's export support services participated in this meeting.
KOTRA supports small and medium-sized enterprises with global capabilities to leap into global companies. The existing World Champ Development Project and Export Leap Medium-sized Enterprise Development Project have been integrated into the Medium-sized Enterprise Global Support Project starting this year. Currently, 379 companies are participating, and last year's export amount to strategic markets recorded $8.66 billion.
KOTRA is also piloting the 'COVID-19 Promising Items Emergency Export Support Project' in preparation for the post-COVID era. Amid the global shortage of goods supply following the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), KOTRA identifies local projects with high short-term export potential through overseas trade centers and connects and manages our small and medium-sized enterprises with production capacity.
Company I, participating in the meeting, developed an AI solution in response to social distancing. Company I said, "Marketing is difficult as overseas exhibitions have been canceled," and "Finding new buyers is urgent."
