Gyeongju-si, Gyeongbuk Expands Water Supply in Sannae and Naenam-myeon... Year-End Plan Submitted to Government
2021 10-Year Basic Plan Confirmed
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] Gyeongju City, Gyeongsangbuk-do, held the final briefing session on the 'Water Supply Maintenance Basic Plan Revision Service' on the 30th to establish a comprehensive basic plan for water supply maintenance.
According to the 10-year basic plan establishment schedule based on Article 4 of the Water Supply Act, Gyeongju City started the service in June 2018 in preparation for the third revision next year, following the second revision in October 2011. The city explained that the service is currently in the final stage to obtain approval from the Ministry of Environment.
The main target areas of this service are the Cheonbuk Tourist Complex and the Innovative Nuclear Research Complex, the Shin-Gyeongju Station area, the Dongcheon District urban development, five other projects, and 16 industrial complexes including the Geomdan General Industrial Complex.
Additionally, plans to expand water supply to vulnerable areas such as Sannae and Naenam-myeon and to install emergency interconnection pipelines between water purification plants such as Tapdong and Bomun Water Purification Plant are also under review. The finalized basic plan will be submitted to the Ministry of Environment by the end of the year.
