Mirae Asset Daewoo Conducts Untact Social Contribution
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Hwajeong] Mirae Asset Daewoo announced on the 30th that as social distancing campaigns have made face-to-face social contribution activities difficult due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), it is conducting social contribution activities in a non-face-to-face (untact) manner.
As part of these social contribution activities, Mirae Asset Daewoo sponsored the 17th "Cheer Up, Uri" Milal Concert on the 25th through employee donations to help people with disabilities facing employment crises among vulnerable groups. Employees who participated in the donation were provided with the online concert URL, allowing them to enjoy meaningful cultural experiences together. The sponsorship funds will be used as wages for employed personnel such as career-interrupted women, people with disabilities, and multicultural workers at the Giving Plus store of the Milal Welfare Foundation.
Additionally, employees who participated in this untact social contribution were given cookie sets purchased from 'Phanis,' a protected workshop at the Seoul Comprehensive Welfare Center for the Disabled. Phanis is a place dedicated to providing stable jobs for about 30 people with severe disabilities.
Furthermore, matching employee donations, 'Phanis Bakery Gift Certificates' were delivered to the 'Ten Fingers Mutual Care Social Cooperative' located in Anyang City and the Goodwill Store Bundang branch.
Min Kyungbu, Head of the Management Support Division at Mirae Asset Daewoo, said, "We ask for the continuous interest and participation of our employees so that untact social contribution activities, planned to create a healthy society living together with marginalized neighbors in need of our help and to help them become self-reliant, can be well established as a corporate culture."
