Gochang-gun to Increase Food Waste Collection Frequency from Second Half of the Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] The Environmental Facilities Office of Gochang-gun, Jeollanam-do is making every effort to reduce complaints caused by odors in the summer by increasing the frequency of food waste collection and transportation.
According to Gochang-gun on the 29th, there are currently 10 food waste collection and transportation workers who operate 5 transport vehicles to conduct weekly 1 to 2 rounds of collection targeting 14 towns and townships in Gochang-gun.
Starting in the second half of the year, they plan to increase the frequency of food waste collection to 3 to 4 times per week by introducing additional collection and transportation vehicles.
In addition, special cleaning and disinfection will be intensively carried out until the end of September for 177 individual food waste meters and 280 collection containers in multi-family and apartment housing during the summer season.
