At the meeting, Governor Kim once again emphasized the three major directions and three core tasks of the Gyeongnam-type New Deal for the second half of the provincial administration operation.
The four-year provincial administration plan includes a total of 140 implementation tasks, and the progress check showed that 34 tasks were completed and 97 were in the execution stage, with most tasks achieving concrete results.
Some tasks, such as the establishment of the Materials and Components Research Complex and the creation of the Western Government Complex Happy Garden, were still in the preparation stage.
At the meeting, the advisory committee members proposed new policies to reflect newly emerging demands from residents and to achieve the best results for the remaining two years of the 7th elected term’s four-year provincial administration plan.
Governor Kim Kyung-soo stated, "In the COVID-19 situation, it is time for provincial administration to actively promote the Smart and Green New Deal through industrial policies and to complement the vulnerable employment and welfare structures together with the government and the field through the Social New Deal."
Governor Kim also expressed gratitude to the committee members, saying, "The advisory committee has ordered such directions so far, and thanks to that, we were able to prepare various resources needed for the post-COVID era in advance. Let us put our heads together through this review to figure out how to address the new changes needed going forward."
Meanwhile, the Gyeongnam Provincial Administration Advisory Committee is composed of four subcommittees?economic innovation, livelihood, cultural welfare, and social innovation?and 30 experts from various fields.
