Wando-gun Provides Emergency Management Stabilization Funds to Dried Dasima Producers
Applicants Must Have Sales Records Within the Past Year to Be Eligible
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Shin Woo-cheol) announced on the 29th that the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' emergency management stabilization fund (3 billion KRW) support for kelp aquaculture households, which are struggling due to prolonged COVID-19 pandemic-related consumption slump, excessive inventory, and price decline, has been confirmed.
Initially, the emergency management stabilization support targets were nearshore coastal net fishing, fish, abalone, and sea squirt aquaculture households, but the county requested Jeollanam-do Provincial Office to expand the support targets for the management stabilization of kelp aquaculture households, resulting in dried kelp production households also receiving support.
The emergency management stabilization fund additionally provided this time supports only dried kelp production households.
Support is available only for those with sales performance in the past year, and households that have already received COVID-19 management stabilization funds are excluded.
Loans are available up to a maximum of 5 million KRW per household, and fishermen can choose between a fixed interest rate of 1.3% or a variable interest rate.
