[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] It has been confirmed that one child was infected at the Ministry of National Defense daycare center on the base where a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) case was reported. According to related regulations, this daycare center will be closed for two weeks starting from the day before.
On the 28th, according to Yongsan-gu and the Ministry of National Defense, among the 14 children at the Ministry of National Defense daycare center in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, who underwent COVID-19 testing the day before, a 3-year-old boy tested positive and was admitted to Seoul Medical Center. Three family members of the infected child have been placed under self-quarantine and are scheduled to undergo COVID-19 testing. All 48 staff members and 25 children tested the day before received negative results.
At this daycare center, a female teacher in her 20s was confirmed positive the day before and was transferred to Seobuk Hospital. Although the daycare center is located in a separate building within the base, not in the Ministry of National Defense main building, most of the parents of the children attending the daycare are known to be Ministry of National Defense employees or military personnel.
