Hydrogen Mobility+ Show Brings Together 108 Hydrogen-Related Organizations and Companies Worldwide
[Asia Economy Reporter Su-yeon Woo] The largest hydrogen mobility exhibition in Korea, 'Hydrogen Mobility+ Show,' scheduled to be held on the 1st, will bring together products and technologies encompassing the entire domestic and international hydrogen industry ecosystem in one place.
The Hydrogen Mobility+ Show Organizing Committee announced on the 26th that 108 companies and institutions from 11 countries worldwide in the fields of hydrogen mobility, charging infrastructure, and hydrogen energy will participate in the '1st Hydrogen Mobility+ Show,' held from the 1st to the 3rd at KINTEX in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.
The 108 participating companies and institutions will introduce new technologies and products in the hydrogen industry across four themed zones within the exhibition hall according to their exhibited items: Hydrogen Mobility Zone (39 companies), Hydrogen Charging Infrastructure Zone (19 companies), Hydrogen Energy Zone (14 companies), and International Zone (36 companies).
In the Hydrogen Mobility Zone, visitors can encounter various hydrogen-based mobility and related components such as hydrogen cars, hydrogen drones, hydrogen excavators, and hydrogen bicycles. Major participating companies in this exhibition hall include Hyundai Motor Company, Doosan Mobility Innovation, Beomhan Industry, Gaoncell, eFlow, and JCAR.
Hyundai Motor Company has been dedicated to developing hydrogen fuel cells since the 2000s and launched the world's first mass-produced hydrogen electric vehicle, the Tucson, in 2012. Following this, it introduced the Nexo in 2018 and has been recognized as a leading hydrogen electric vehicle company both domestically and internationally.
Doosan Mobility Innovation is a mobile fuel cell specialized company that succeeded in mass-producing hydrogen drones for the first time in the world. It applied mobile hydrogen fuel cell pack technology developed with Doosan Group's own capabilities to industrial drones and has received the Dasan Technology Award and the CES 2020 Best Innovation Award.
In the Hydrogen Charging Infrastructure Zone, visitors can glimpse the excellent technological capabilities of companies related to various facilities and equipment that constitute hydrogen charging stations, the core facilities of the hydrogen industry. Leading companies in the hydrogen charging field such as Hyosung Heavy Industries, Nel Korea, Air Products Korea, and Air Liquide Korea are major exhibitors.
In particular, Hyosung Heavy Industries is the only total solution company for hydrogen charging stations in Korea. It holds the number one market share for hydrogen charging stations domestically and is currently promoting the construction of the world's largest liquefied hydrogen plant. Nel Korea, the Korean branch of the global hydrogen specialist company Nel, provides optimal solutions capable of producing, storing, and transporting hydrogen from renewable energy.
The Hydrogen Energy Zone is a venue where various technologies that can utilize hydrogen fuel, the next-generation future energy source replacing oil or coal, can be experienced. Participants include Doosan Fuel Cell, Korea Gas Corporation, Korea Electric Power Corporation, S-Fuel Cell, and STX Heavy Industries.
Doosan Fuel Cell is a company that has secured core materials and system technology for the first residential fuel cell in Korea and currently leads the building and residential fuel cell industry. Korea Gas Corporation is an energy public enterprise supplying clean energy natural gas and is actively promoting domestic and international projects and technology development related to hydrogen in preparation for the transition to a future eco-friendly energy era.
The International Zone is designed to overcome the limitations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, with embassies of various countries in Korea participating alongside their representative hydrogen-related companies to promote entry into the domestic market, international cooperation, and technology exchange. Participating embassies in this themed zone include the Netherlands Embassy, Canada Embassy, Australia Embassy, and United Kingdom Embassy.
The Netherlands, one of the major hydrogen energy producing countries, plans to introduce Dutch representative companies and technologies in hydrogen energy transition technology utilizing natural gas infrastructure, as well as in hydrogen transportation, heating, and power generation sectors. The Canada Embassy plans to introduce companies affiliated with the Canadian Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association and their technologies, while also providing information on the status of the hydrogen industry in Canada.
The Hydrogen Mobility+ Show is hosted by the Hydrogen Mobility+ Show Organizing Committee and co-organized by the Organizing Committee, KOTRA, and KINTEX. It is sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Ministry of Science and ICT, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and Ministry of SMEs and Startups. The event will be held for three days from July 1 to 3 at Hall 3, Exhibition Center 1, KINTEX, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do.
