Everland "Significantly Improving Restroom and Traffic Convenience to Meet Customer Expectations"
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Everland is gaining attention for improving convenience facilities such as hygiene and transportation in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the 26th, Everland announced that it is conducting a comprehensive renovation of restrooms, which are the most frequently used facilities by customers. With hygiene and safety awareness strengthened worldwide due to COVID-19, Everland explained that it is upgrading infrastructure facilities to meet customer needs and trends.
There are about 30 restrooms installed inside and outside the park at Everland, and the full-scale renewal began in April, with plans to carry out improvement work sequentially until the end of this year.
The newly improved restrooms will not be flashy but will focus on comfort and cleanliness so that customers can use them cleanly and comfortably, applying a simple design. Convenience facilities for customers with infants or disabilities, as well as safety features such as anti-slip measures, will also be upgraded.
Everland is improving parking convenience by introducing a cloud-based IT parking system in cooperation with Kakao Mobility. Everland has several parking lots with a total capacity of about 10,000 vehicles, but when many cars gather at once on weekends or holidays, congestion occurs as everyone tries to get close to the main gate.
This caused inconvenience before entering Everland, leading to continuous complaints that affected overall satisfaction. To improve this, Everland conducted an industry-academic cooperation project with the Seoul National University Transportation Engineering Laboratory last year to analyze traffic flow within the complex and has been promoting systematic solutions.
Additionally, Everland plans to provide a function through mobile apps such as KakaoT and KakaoNavi in collaboration with Kakao Mobility to collect real-time parking status data, guiding customers not only on the availability of the main gate parking lot but also to the fastest parking spots.
Even after the introduction of the new parking system, most parking lots will remain free of charge, but the main gate parking lot will be operated as a paid service starting in July, considering factors such as congestion relief, customer safety, and system stabilization. Since May, various bus stops, including route buses, have been relocated around the main gate, greatly improving public transportation accessibility by allowing customers to get off near the main gate and walk directly without transferring to a shuttle bus.
