Dongjak-gu Operates 'Traditional Market Day'... Expanding Delivery Service
Delivery Service Provided for Residents Purchasing Over 30,000 KRW Online and Offline at Local Traditional Markets... Delivery Service on Traditional Market Day Expanded to Related Organizations... Purchase Amount Tripled Ahead of June 3 Event
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Changwoo Lee) is expanding the 'Traditional Market Day' delivery service to related organizations to revitalize the local economy, which has been stagnant due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Since March, the district has increased the Traditional Market Day event from once to twice a month, holding it on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month. This month's event has been rescheduled to June 26.
To promote economic revitalization, Dongjak-gu Mayor Changwoo Lee, who participates in shopping events at local traditional markets, visited Seongdae Traditional Market in Sangdo 3-dong today to listen to merchants' difficulties and shop together with residents.
Since May, the district has supported 40 million KRW to improve convenience in using traditional markets, operating delivery services at four locations: Namseong Sagye Market, Sangdo Traditional Market, Seongdae Traditional Market, and Namseong Station Alley Market. Residents who purchase more than 30,000 KRW worth of traditional market products online or offline can use the service.
After shopping, residents can request delivery service at the store for same-day delivery. In particular, Seongdae Traditional Market offers delivery within two hours for orders placed through the Seongdae Traditional Market page on Naver Shopping Food Window.
Additionally, on June 3, the first delivery service of 'Traditional Market Day' was implemented for district office employees who had difficulty visiting the markets. This service allowed pre-ordering products from the delivery lists of the four traditional markets, which were then collectively delivered to the district office on the event day, providing convenience for employees and increasing merchants' sales simultaneously.
The second delivery service, ongoing until today, has expanded participating institutions to related local organizations such as the Facilities Management Corporation and daycare centers. As the variety of participating stores and products increased and applications grew, the number of pre-orders and purchase amounts rose about threefold compared to the first round (111 orders, approximately 1.8 million KRW) to 355 orders and approximately 5.2 million KRW.
