Yeosu-si Actively Operates 'Free Home Pickup Service for Disused Home Appliances'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Yeosu City (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong) announced on the 25th that it will actively operate the ‘Free Home Visit Collection Service for Discarded Home Appliances’ in collaboration with the Korea Electronic Product Resource Circulation Mutual Aid Association (hereinafter referred to as the Mutual Aid Association).
The ‘Free Home Visit Collection Service for Discarded Home Appliances’ allows citizens to use a reservation system for disposal without any separate disposal fees, where collection vehicles directly visit homes to collect discarded home appliances.
Products registered for disposal in advance are collected by the Mutual Aid Association’s dedicated collection and transportation team at the applicant’s doorstep on the scheduled date.
Home appliances eligible for free collection as single items include large discarded appliances such as TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and air purifiers, as well as set items like stereo systems and PC sets (main unit + monitor). Small appliances such as fans, mixers, and vacuum cleaners can be disposed of simultaneously if five or more are discarded at once or if discarded together with large items.
However, products with damaged original forms (such as refrigerators with damaged coolers or washing machines with damaged motors) and custom-made large products (built-in appliances, refrigeration/freezing warehouses, etc.) are excluded from free collection.
