Jeonnam Fire Department, All-Out Effort for Proactive Response to Heavy Rain Warning
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Fire Department has taken swift and proactive measures following the issuance of weather warnings in the Jeonnam region.
According to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon) on the 25th, heavy rain and strong wind advisories were issued in the Jeonnam area the previous day, prompting the activation of the emergency rescue response system and focusing on preventing damage to residents.
The Fire Headquarters and seven fire stations reinforced their situation personnel and strengthened patrols in areas vulnerable to damage, enhancing their response posture.
A total of six reports were received following the issuance of the weather warnings, and the fire authorities who responded took drainage actions such as opening drainage outlets.
Additionally, in Wando, safety measures were taken by securing road signs that were shaking due to bolts loosening from the strong winds that day.
Ma Jaeyoon, Chief of Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, stated, “We will do our best to create a safe Jeonnam from wind and flood disasters through swift and accurate proactive responses before various disasters occur.”
Meanwhile, on the 24th, heavy rain advisories were issued for five cities/counties (Yeosu, Jangheung, Goheung, Wando, Haenam) in Jeonnam, and strong wind advisories were issued for four cities/counties (Jindo, Sinan, Yeonggwang, Hampyeong).
