KAMCO Hosts 'Idea Competition' Utilizing Onbid Public Auction Information

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO) announced on the 25th that it will hold the '2020 Onbid Open API App (Web) Development and Idea Contest' utilizing the public asset disposal system 'Onbid' auction information until August 21.
Through this contest, KAMCO plans to support the discovery of business models that can create new added value, such as smartphone application (app) development, by utilizing Onbid auction information provided on the Public Data Portal.
The contest is divided into two categories: ▲application development and ▲idea proposal. Participants can submit an application introduction or idea proposal form by email by 6 p.m. on August 21.
KAMCO will select a total of 14 teams, including the grand prize winner in the development category (500,000 KRW), and award a total prize money of 2 million KRW along with certificates. The winners will also be promoted on the Onbid homepage and newsletter (Onbid Naduri). The results will be announced on the Onbid homepage in early September.
In addition, an event for writing reviews on the use of the Open API will be held alongside the contest, and 20 people selected by lottery will receive Onnuri gift certificates.
Namgung Young, Head of KAMCO's Public Development Headquarters, said, "We hope that useful services for the public's daily life will be developed by utilizing KAMCO Onbid auction information through this contest," and added, "We hope that KAMCO Onbid auction information will contribute to social values such as job creation."

Meanwhile, since 2013, KAMCO Onbid has provided open API for auction information, which has been used in ▲GIS-based 'Auction and Public Sale Map App,' ▲spatial information administrative data-linked 'Jeonju City Living Geography Information Webpage,' and ▲user-centered real estate, finance, and auction information platforms.
