Dobong-gu Shares 'Love Summer Kimchi' with Neighbors

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Companies, private sectors, and volunteers have joined forces to support the elderly and low-income groups who find outdoor activities difficult due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Dobong-gu (District Mayor Lee Dong-jin) will hold the '2020 Love Sharing Summer Kimchi' event on the 25th at the Dobong-gu Office plaza.
Now in its fourth year, the Love Sharing Summer Kimchi event is sponsored by the Korea Racing Authority Dobong Branch and Hanaro Mart Changdong Branch. It is organized by the Dobong-gu Private Volunteer Group Council and Dobong-dong Senior Welfare Center, with about 30 participants from the Volunteer Camp Council, Apartment Volunteer Group Council, and Family Plus Volunteer Group delivering 3kg of summer kimchi (fresh napa cabbage kimchi and young radish kimchi) and instant rice to 500 needy households.
Kim Guk-yeon, head of the Korea Racing Authority Dobong Branch, said, “Although business is difficult due to COVID-19, we will strive to become a company that coexists with the local community.”
So far, the Dobong-gu Private Volunteer Group Council has conducted various volunteer programs for the community and residents, such as the 'Changdong Station Hope Market' and 'Love Lucky Bag.'
