Seongdong-gu Provides 'Home Disinfection Service' to 30 Vulnerable Children Households
Providing Customized Disinfection After On-Site Diagnosis with Professional Disinfection Companies, Supporting Healthy Growth of Children
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jeong Wono) will implement a ‘Home Disinfection Service’ for 30 vulnerable children’s households living in poor residential environments over the two months of July and August.
This home disinfection aims to improve living conditions by providing customized pest control services to vulnerable children’s families residing in unsanitary housing environments where pests frequently occur, thereby creating a pleasant nurturing environment to promote the healthy growth and development of children.
Especially this year, due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, children are spending more time at home, increasing their exposure to various harmful environments. This initiative is promoted to thoroughly prevent diseases and infections caused by pests inside the home.
The district collaborates with the pest control company CESCO to conduct on-site inspections of pest habitats and environmental factors in each household, then provides customized disinfection services such as pest control and deworming tailored to each family.
Additionally, sterilization and disinfection against viruses and bacteria are conducted to thoroughly block harmful environments.
A district official stated, “We will not stop at one-time disinfection but will provide effective disinfection services by conducting additional treatments at regular intervals after the first disinfection.”
This project is part of the ‘Seongdong-gu Dream Start Project,’ through which the district offers case management, psychological testing, sports classes, and customized integrated services in areas such as physical health, cognition and language, emotional and behavioral support, and parent and family support for vulnerable children under 12 years old and their families, supporting the healthy growth of children.
