Operation of the 'Visiting Financial Counseling Office' in Buk-gu, Gwangju
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 24th that it will operate a 'Visiting Financial Counseling Center' in collaboration with the Gwangju Jeonnam Women's Venture Association until December to promote the economic stability of residents' households.
The Visiting Financial Counseling Center was established to provide comprehensive information on financial support for low-income people, such as debt adjustment, low-interest conversion, and self-reliance fund support, to residents who are unaware of the existence of the low-income financial support system and therefore cannot use it.
Accordingly, Buk-gu utilizes 19 financial welfare counselors composed of retired personnel in the financial sector to provide visiting financial counseling services to low-income and financially vulnerable groups.
In particular, this financial counseling actively reflects the opinion that 63% of respondents in the low-income financial survey conducted last year expressed the need for counseling and guidance on credit recovery support.
The counseling contents include ▲ guidance on support systems such as personal rehabilitation, bankruptcy?discharge, personal (pre) workout ▲ household financial diagnosis and planning ▲ free lawyer support linkage for victims of illegal private loans ▲ other financial welfare support, and are conducted about 1 to 3 times a week depending on the demand site.
Buk-gu plans to propose relief measures for financially vulnerable groups such as long-term delinquents and excessive debtors discovered through the financial counseling center and actively support social rehabilitation by linking with welfare service-related organizations.
