COVID-19 Cases in Beijing Drop to 7 Ahead of Dano Festival Holiday (Update)
[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Park Sun-mi] The trend of the COVID-19 cluster infection spread in Beijing has eased. The number of new confirmed cases dropped to 7 in one day on the 23rd.
On the 24th, the National Health Commission of China (NHC) announced that as of midnight, 12 new COVID-19 cases were reported in China. Three of them were imported cases infected overseas and entered China. Among the remaining 9 cases, 7 were from Beijing and 2 from Hebei Province.
The 7 new COVID-19 confirmed cases in Beijing were from Fengtai District (6 cases), where the agricultural and aquatic products wholesale market Xinpaidi Market is located, and the nearby Daxing District (1 case). In addition to the 7 new confirmed cases in one day, 4 suspected cases and 1 asymptomatic infected person were added.
Currently, in Beijing, a total of 256 COVID-19 confirmed patients and 22 asymptomatic infected persons related to the Xinpaidi Market cluster infection are receiving COVID-19 treatment and medical observation.
