Gyeongnam Province Seeks Tourism Revitalization through the '2020 Gyeongnam Tourism Expo'
Held at Changwon Convention Center Exhibition Halls 2 and 3 from the 25th to the 27th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Gyeongnam Province announced on the 23rd that it will hold the ‘2020 Gyeongnam Tourism Expo’ at the Changwon Convention Center Exhibition Halls 2 and 3, located in Daewon-dong, Uichang-gu, Changwon City, to overcome the crisis facing Gyeongnam tourism due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The expo will be held from the 25th to the 27th. The ‘Gyeongnam Tourism Expo’ has been established as an exhibition marking the start of domestic tourism every March, and this year, 107 companies will participate with a total of 320 booths.
This expo will operate various promotional halls, including the ‘Gyeongnam Tourism Promotion Hall’ introducing excellent tourist attractions and tourism products from 18 cities and counties in the province, as well as the ‘Excellent Festival Promotion Hall,’ ‘Gyeongnam MICE Alliance Hall,’ ‘Camping & Leisure Hall,’ and ‘International Hall,’ providing diverse tourism information.
In addition, to revitalize tourism within the province, the ‘Gyeongnam Tourism Product Development Award’ will be held for public officials from tourism departments of the 18 cities and counties to develop sustainable and practical local tourism products. There are also plans to hold the ‘Gyeongnam MICE & Tourism Industry Development Forum’ under the theme of ‘Overcoming the COVID-19 Crisis and Responding to the Post-COVID Era,’ providing a platform to suggest directions for the development of the MICE industry.
