Establishing a Resident-Led Autonomous Cleanliness Culture
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Nongsung 1-dong in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Daeseok) is operating the ‘Nongsung 1-dong Village Clean Leader’ to establish a resident-led autonomous cleanliness culture.
According to Seo-gu on the 23rd, the Clean Leaders appointed on the 17th are volunteers recruited to create a pleasant village environment in Nongsung 1-dong, consisting of a total of 8 members.
The appointed Clean Leaders will be active for one year until the end of June next year, performing village cleanliness activities, inspecting areas vulnerable to illegal dumping, managing village urban gardens and box gardens, educating residents for environmental protection, and promoting resource circulation.
In particular, the district will be divided into four zones, with two people per team, forming a total of four teams, to encourage responsible and dedicated village cleanliness activities.
