The KOSPI, which had turned downward, is rising again
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] The KOSPI, which initially surged more than 1% before reversing to a decline, has turned back to an upward trend.
On the 23rd, the KOSPI opened at 2149.13, up 22.40 points (1.05%) from the previous trading day. It rose more than 1% in the early session, approaching the 2160 level, then reduced its gains around 10 a.m. before turning downward around 10:20 a.m. It resumed rising around 11 a.m., hovering near the 2130 level. As of 1:35 p.m., it recorded 2137.51, up 10.78 points (0.51%) from the previous day. At the same time, the KOSDAQ index also rose 2.49 points (0.33%) to 754.13.
Looking at trading participants, individual and foreign investors led the index's rise in the securities market, with net purchases of 249.5 billion KRW and 18.7 billion KRW respectively. Conversely, institutional investors net sold 243.4 billion KRW.
