National Diplomatic Academy Holds Academic Conference on the 70th Anniversary of the Korean War
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security at the Korea National Diplomatic Academy announced on the 23rd that it will hold an academic conference on the theme of "The Cold War and Post-Cold War on the Korean Peninsula" in the main conference room on the 2nd floor of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy on the 24th.
This academic conference is hosted by the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security at the Korea National Diplomatic Academy, with participation from the North Korea Studies Association, the Korean Cold War Association, and the Contemporary China Studies Association. Experts in North Korea and China from Korea, including Kim Su-am, president of the North Korea Studies Association, Shin Jong-dae, president of the Korean Cold War Association, and Lee Uk-yeon, president of the Contemporary China Studies Association, will participate.
The conference will proceed in the order of an opening address by Kim Jun-hyung, president of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy, congratulatory remarks by the presidents of the participating associations, followed by presentations and discussions by experts.
This academic conference was organized to reflect on the significance of the Korean War in the context of East Asian Cold War history on the 70th anniversary of the Korean War, and to discuss the unresolved Cold War legacies and the historical tasks of post-Cold War through a reexamination of inter-Korean and Korea-China relations during the Cold War period.
