Jungnang-gu Hosts 'Visiting Cooperative Campus and Public Forum'
'Visiting Cooperative Campus and Public Forum' Held to Gather Diverse Resident Opinions for Development of Jungnang-gu... Over 330 Residents Participated Across 16 Neighborhoods from the 8th to 17th
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held the ‘Visiting Governance Campus and Public Forum’ from the 8th to the 17th of last month.
The ‘Visiting Governance Campus and Public Forum’ was organized for residents participating from each neighborhood to receive basic education on governance and discuss governance agendas necessary for the district’s development, including sharing local issues in their residential areas.
At this public forum, distinctive agendas by neighborhood were discussed, including ▲holding performances twice a month at Myeonmok Station Plaza (Myeonmok Bon-dong) ▲introduction of volunteer mileage system (Myeonmok 3·8-dong) ▲establishment of a middle school in Myeonmok 2-dong (Myeonmok 2-dong) ▲installation of separate waste collection bins (Sangbong 2-dong) ▲construction of a modern and contemporary history archive for Jungnang-gu (Muk 1-dong) ▲resident harmony exchange event in Sinnae 1-dong (Sinnae 1-dong) ▲installation of ginkgo nut collection nets (Sinnae 2-dong).
The district plans to hold a large public forum based on the agendas discovered through the ‘Visiting Governance Campus and Public Forum’.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “This public forum received great response with over 330 residents from 16 neighborhoods participating. We will continue to expand the forum to hear diverse voices from residents.”

To prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the district conducted the meetings in each neighborhood’s meeting rooms following COVID-19 social distancing guidelines, including pre-disinfection, participant registration, temperature checks, mask-wearing, and seating arranged with 2-meter spacing during meetings.
