What Is the Future of Online Performance Content? The 13th Young Artist Forum
On the 9th of next month at Sejong Center S Theater
[Asia Economy Reporter Byunghee Park] Sejong Center for the Performing Arts and the Young Artist Forum & Festival will co-host the "13th Young Artist Forum" on July 9th at 3 PM at the Sejong Center S Theater.
Sejong Center for the Performing Arts and the Young Artist Forum & Festival, which promotes the discovery and support of young artists, jointly hosted last year's "Young Artist Forum & Festival" while contemplating the development and support of emerging artists and the future direction of the classical music industry. Following last year, this year in 2020, the forum will be held under the theme "Changes Due to COVID-19 ? Regarding Online Performance Content."
This forum began from the need to discuss the online performance market, which is becoming an increasingly significant issue for emerging artists, in response to the changes in the performing arts scene caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has led to a surge in online performances. Online performances, which were previously limited to a supplementary role to live performances, have established an independent domain and secured a position as a pillar of the performance market due to COVID-19. The forum will review the current status of online performances, deeply consider the uniqueness of the performing arts industry known as "liveness," and discuss future directions and corresponding measures. Ultimately, through this forum, young artists will discuss ways to find opportunities in the rapidly changing performance market and the future direction of classical performances in the post-COVID era.
Speakers include Suhyun Kim, Senior Reporter of SBS Policy and Culture Team; Jeongin Park, Director of Haein Arts Law Institute; Bomi Yoon, CEO of the planning company Bom Art Project; and Jinsang Lee, Professor at Korea National University of Arts (Pianist).
The forum will operate with less than half of the venue's seating capacity following social distancing guidelines. Additionally, all attendees are required to undergo temperature checks, wear masks, and complete health questionnaires to prevent and contain COVID-19.
