Kumho Electric Signs Contract with Woojin Metro for Uijeongbu Light Rail Energy Efficiency Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] LED specialist company Kumho Electric announced on the 22nd that it signed a contract with Woojin Metro on the 19th regarding an energy efficiency project and held a business agreement ceremony.
Woojin Metro is responsible for light rail transportation support services at the Uijeongbu Light Rail vehicle depot. Through this contract, Kumho Electric will supply a total of 5,362 products of 27 types, including the ‘Beongae-pyo’ LED flat panel light 32W, to 15 stations and the vehicle depot of the Uijeongbu Light Rail. The project is financed through an ESCO investment business model, and the construction period is about 80 days from this month until August.
Woojin Metro plans to replace all lighting in the Uijeongbu Light Rail stations with LED lights to create bright and eco-friendly stations and actively reduce expenses through the energy efficiency project.
Meanwhile, Kumho Electric has achieved results in LED lighting replacement projects through ESCO projects for military units and Kumho Tire in 2017.
A Kumho Electric official stated, “Starting with this contract, we will restore the reputation of Beongae-pyo not only through ESCO projects but also through social overhead capital procurement projects and construction company sales,” adding, “In the second half of the year, we plan to add products specialized for online sales in addition to existing LED lighting products to pursue both quantitative and qualitative growth of the company.”
