[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Nine out of ten domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that have introduced smart factories said there is a need to adopt big data.
The Korea Federation of SMEs announced on the 22nd the results of the "Smart Factory Manufacturing Data Utilization Status and Analysis Demand Survey," conducted from the 1st to the 4th of this month targeting 259 nationwide win-win type smart factory construction companies. Manufacturing data is reported to be used for real-time monitoring (69.5%), demand forecasting and cause analysis of defects (42.9%), and process quality analysis materials required by customers (34.7%), suggesting that smart factory data is being utilized in various manufacturing processes beyond merely accumulating data.

Through this, they expect ▲a reduction in defect rates (66.5%) ▲cost reduction (62.2%) ▲increase in production volume (50.0%) ▲demand forecasting (32.6%).
