Pastor of Onsu Church in Guro-gu, Seoul Confirmed Positive... Temporary Screening Clinic Set Up in Front of Church
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Sunghye] On the 21st, Seoul's Guro-gu, Gangseo-gu, and Dobong-gu announced 6 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the same day, increasing the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Seoul to at least 1,225.
Guro-gu disclosed 4 confirmed cases diagnosed on the day, including patients number 77 to 80 in the district. Among these confirmed patients, a 52-year-old man living in Hang-dong (Guro 77) is a pastor at Onsu Church. He underwent testing in Guro-gu after his wife, who lives with him and is registered as patient number 160 in Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do (the area where she was tested), was confirmed positive on the 20th. All other cohabiting family members tested negative.
The Guro 77 patient was confirmed to have attended worship services at the church on the 7th and 14th of this month. Accordingly, Guro-gu has set up a temporary screening clinic in front of Onsu Church and is conducting specimen tests for worshippers who attended services on those dates.
Three residents of the Garibong-dong Chinese Korean shelter?a 71-year-old woman, a 54-year-old man, and a 58-year-old woman (Guro 78 to 80)?tested negative in their first test on the 7th and were under self-quarantine. They were tested again on the 20th, just before their self-quarantine was scheduled to end. This shelter underwent comprehensive specimen testing of residents following the confirmation of patient Guro 54 on the 7th.
Gangseo-gu announced that a man in his 30s living in Hwagok 1-dong (Gangseo 79) was confirmed positive for COVID-19 on the 21st. This patient began experiencing symptoms such as fever and muscle pain from the 19th and was tested at the Gangseo-gu Health Center screening clinic on the 20th. The infection route has not been identified.

Dobong-gu reported on the 21st that a 13-year-old boy living in Dobong-dong (Dobong 58) tested positive following retesting of self-quarantined individuals related to a cluster infection at Seongsim Daycare Center. Dobong-gu stated that this boy is a family member of patient Dobong 33 (confirmed on the 12th), who used the daycare center. No further details were immediately disclosed. As a result, the nationwide cumulative number of patients related to Dobong-gu's nursing facilities is understood to have reached at least 43, including 39 in Seoul.
