Domestic 'LG Velvet New Employee Series' Surpasses 100,000 Views
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] LG Electronics is strengthening untact (non-face-to-face) marketing by conducting new product marketing and unveiling events for products such as the Velvet and K series online. As outdoor activities have become difficult due to the impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the company is increasing non-face-to-face contact points with consumers by utilizing SNS.
LG Electronics held online unveiling events in Spain (local time on the 18th), Germany (16th), and Italy (15th) ahead of the European launch of its strategic smartphone, the LG Velvet. The events were conducted via live streaming on each subsidiary’s YouTube and Facebook channels.
On the 10th, an online unveiling event was held in Brazil to coincide with the launch of the LG K series, including the LG K41S, LG K51S, and LG K61. The event introduced the products and conducted a Q&A session through the video conferencing system Zoom. About 100 local journalists attended.
In Korea, LG Electronics presented the unveiling event for the strategic smartphone LG Velvet, which was released last month, in the concept of an online fashion show. An ‘online tech seminar’ introducing the design and colors of the LG Velvet was also held.
SNS is also being actively utilized. LG Electronics produced the ‘LG Velvet New Employee Series’ and uploaded it on Facebook. The three-part series candidly captured evaluations of the LG Velvet by LG Electronics employees and consumers. All three videos surpassed 100,000 views.

An LG Electronics official emphasized, “Considering the COVID-19 situation, we plan to carry out global marketing activities centered on untact. Even though it is non-face-to-face, we will ensure that the product’s features and strengths are effectively conveyed.”
