[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The world-renowned 'Master of Color' is coming to Ulsan.
The Ulsan Culture and Arts Center will present the "Master of Color Carlos Cruz-Diez Exhibition" as part of its 25th anniversary celebration from August 1 to August 30 in Exhibition Hall 1.
Following exhibitions at MoMA in New York, Tate Modern in London, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris, this exhibition in Ulsan showcases various works by Carlos Cruz-Diez, who maximized the artistic experience of color and light by integrating art with science.
Carlos Cruz-Diez, born in Venezuela and active in Paris, devoted his life to studying the principles of color and light, creating works in the field of op-kinetic art. During the 1988 Seoul Olympics, he also presented a sculpture over 6 meters tall featuring the Taegeuk pattern in Olympic Park.
This exhibition is organized into sections including Color Interference Environment, Color Addition, Color Induction, Color-Filled Space, and Chromatic Space, allowing visitors to appreciate uniquely shaped works connected by colors and lines.
The op-kinetic art pieces create optical illusions that are hard to believe even when seen with the eyes, and in the variably installed spaces, visitors can experience an infinite realm of colors.
